John is a very kind person and owner for the store who actually cares deeply about the passion and hobby for drumming. He was quite considerate and fair with being approachable to negotiating as my purchase came at a tougher time for me and my family. Any and all drumming needs should be fed to this man and business, as he's been at this location he said 16 years now and provided above expected service, care and honesty without ever upselling just to make a profit. Last Monday I ordered a set of hihats and 7 days later i got a call from the shipping depot telling me i had a delivery. I retrieved them and opened the box which was well packed and somewhere inside the packing paper was a set of hats that the pictures did no justice to. I rarely leave reviews and if I do it's usually as a warning to future customers. This time I wholeheartedly recommend Drumland Canada due to John and Max both going the extra mile to educate, compare and meet the needs of my son's first drum kit. My son graduates from University of Waterloo this year and this was my gift to him. Initially we went in for the Pearl Roadshow full kit which only included two cymbals. With the addition of the third cymbal and stand we were in the same price range as the Yamaha. Without trying to upsell or pressure us John patiently explained and demonstrated the quality and advantages to going with the Yamaha since it would be the same cost in the end. John answered all of our questions without hesitation and was asking many qualifying questions to my son to make sure he got the right fit. It's very rare to see the owner of an establishment so actively involved on the customer service end and took the time to hear us out. Furthermore you can tell John is passionate about his business and connecting with his customers. I inquired about any famous drummers visiting the store and he pointed along his walk of fame (I started with asking if Rob Reiner of Anvil had visited and sure enough up on the wall was a signed skin). He also took the time to show us other memorabilia and give us a brief history of them. Max and John did not nickel and dime us, the price was honest and included everything they said it would. They carefully packaged the kit and helped load everything into our vehicle. I left Drumland with Peace of Mind knowing we got great service, price and assurance that should we have any questions or concerns they would be more than happy to help.
